The assignment begins on October 1, 2025, and spans a six-month period, offering a minimum commitment of seven shifts per month. Physicians will enjoy 12-hour onsite shifts, and will work within a facility that sees an annual emergency department volume of approximately 24,000 patients, averaging about 66 patients per day.
As an Emergency Medicine Physician (EM) in Lake Charles, LA, you will be part of a supportive team that includes both physician and NPPA shifts, utilizing the Meditech electronic medical record (EMR) system. The position is structured to ensure a balanced work-life experience, as there are no on-call responsibilities, and essential travel and lodging expenses are covered. Malpractice insurance is also provided, allowing you to focus solely on patient care and professional development. Orientation and comprehensive EMR training are included to ensure a smooth transition into your new role.

Accepted boards include ABEM, AOBEM, ABFM, and ABIM. Additional requirements include completion of stroke-related continuing medical education (CME) and enrollment in the Louisiana Provider Compensation Fund. All physicians must be up-to-date on flu and other immunizations, although waivers may be considered where appropriate.
