The Emergency Medicine Physician (ABEM) – Locum Tenens position involves providing full-scope emergency care coverage from June 1, 2025, through October 31, 2025. Shifts are available in 12-hour blocks, with a strong preference for night shifts. The facility averages an annual emergency department volume of 37,000 patients, supported by a robust coverage model that includes both physicians and advanced practice providers. Emergency Medicine Physician (ABEM) – Locum Tenens Summary

Duties & Responsibilities
- Assess, diagnose, and manage acute and urgent medical conditions in the emergency department
- Perform medical procedures within the scope of emergency medicine, ensuring adherence to best practice standards
- Collaborate effectively with nursing staff, advanced practice providers, and other healthcare professionals
- Document patient encounters and maintain accurate and timely medical records
- Participate in the department’s quality assurance and improvement initiatives
- Abide by all facility protocols and regulatory requirements
- Provide patient-centered care with a focus on safety, efficiency, and excellent clinical outcomes
- Engage in continuing medical education to maintain clinical competency
Salary & Benefits
- Competitive hourly rate of $300 per hour

Qualifications & Requirements
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine (ABEM/ABOEM preferred)
- Family Practice or Internal Medicine physicians must have a minimum of 3 years of emergency department experience
- Active and unrestricted medical license and controlled substance registration
- Current DEA registration and valid driver’s license
- Current certifications in ACLS, ATLS, and PALS
- Completion of an accredited residency program
- Up-to-date flu and TB testing within the past 12 months
- Provision of education certificates, CME records (past 2 years), and case/procedure logs
- All documentation supporting board certification or eligibility within the required timeline
