Emergency Medicine Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (NP/PA) - Summary
- Deliver advanced emergency care as an NP/PA in a high-performing healthcare environment
- Provide clinical assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of emergency department patients
- Utilize modern EMR (Epic) and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Flexible scheduling with opportunities for daily and weekly overtime
- Serve a community-centered hospital in Hamilton, NY
Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and develop treatment plans for emergency department patients
- Provide timely and accurate documentation using Epic EMR
- Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and ancillary services to ensure coordinated patient care
- Stabilize and treat patients presenting with a range of acute illnesses and injuries
- Participate in orientation and ongoing training, including EMR onboarding
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards
- Adhere to all required immunization protocols, including flu and PPD (with waivers considered as appropriate)
- Manage an average patient load of approximately 35 emergency department visits per shift
- Participate in privileging and credentialing processes, including timely submission of required documentation

Qualifications & Requirements
- Active New York Medical License and NY DEA registration
- Board certification as a Nurse Practitioner (ANCC, AANP) or Physician Assistant (NCCPA)
- Current, valid certifications in ACLS, PALS, and ATLS (AHA-approved)
- Demonstrated emergency medicine experience preferred
- Submission of CME and case logs from the past two years
- Ability to commit to a minimum six-month contract

- Orientation includes EMR training and onboarding
