As an Emergency Medicine NP/PA, you will be an integral part of a collaborative healthcare team operating within a Level IV Trauma Center. The Emergency Medicine Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (NP/PA) role at Optigy is ideal for providers who value flexibility, teamwork, and clinical excellence. The position offers a flexible schedule, daily and weekly overtime potential, and access to a stable, supportive medical and nursing staff. You will benefit from robust backup support across multiple specialties, including OB/GYN, ENT, Pediatrics, Orthopedics, Internal Medicine, Radiology, Family Practice, Surgery, Ophthalmology, Urology, Anesthesiology, Hyperbaric Medicine, Pulmonology, and Wound Care. The department is equipped with 101 beds, including 14 dedicated emergency department beds, and utilizes the T-System for efficient electronic documentation.
Providers in this Emergency Medicine NP/PA position will be responsible for high-acuity and general emergency cases, delivering comprehensive patient assessment, treatment, and care coordination. You will work 12-hour shifts, with coverage from noon to midnight, alongside scribe assistance to optimize workflow and patient throughput. Scheduling is planned well in advance, allowing for work-life balance and personal flexibility. The open-ended assignment provides ongoing opportunities for those interested in long-term locum tenens arrangements, with credentialing processes streamlined to approximately 24 days for a timely start.
Candidates must possess an active Texas Medical License, a valid DEA registration for Texas, and maintain relevant national certifications. Nurse Practitioners should hold either ANCC or AANP certification, while Physician Assistants must have NCCPA certification. Additionally, up-to-date certifications in ACLS, ATLS, PALS, and NRP are required. Prior experience in Emergency Medicine is highly preferred, and candidates should be prepared to provide CME and case logs for the past two years as part of the credentialing process. Professional attire or scrubs is acceptable attire in the workplace.
