The role of Emergency Medicine Nurse Practitioner (NP, ENP) is a dynamic and highly sought-after opportunity for experienced advanced practice providers who are passionate about delivering high-quality emergency care. This position involves providing clinical coverage in a busy Level II Trauma Center, supporting physicians and collaborating closely with a dedicated Advanced Practice Provider (APP) team. As an Emergency Medicine Nurse Practitioner, you will play a critical role in managing a diverse patient population and supporting the efficient operation of a fast-paced emergency department.
This opening is available for an immediate start, following the completion of credentialing procedures. The assignment is designed to last a minimum of 13 weeks, offering a stable and rewarding locum tenens experience. Shifts are primarily scheduled during nights and weekends, with the flexibility to group them in blocks of 5-7 consecutive shifts, allowing for efficient coverage and enhanced work-life balance. The Emergency Medicine Nurse Practitioner (NP, ENP) will be responsible for managing an average daily census of 80 to 85 patients, utilizing their clinical expertise to assess, diagnose, and treat a wide range of acute medical conditions.
As a member of the emergency department team, the Emergency Medicine Nurse Practitioner (NP, ENP) will be performing standard emergency room procedures in accordance with current clinical guidelines and best practices. The ideal candidate will already possess an active Illinois license and hold certifications in ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support), BLS (Basic Life Support), and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support). Previous experience in emergency medicine and the ability to work autonomously in a high-pressure environment are essential for success in this role.
Compensation for this locum tenens assignment is highly competitive, provided on a 1099 hourly rate basis.
