Electronics Test Technician

The Electronics Test Technician plays a vital role in the setup, calibration, testing, and troubleshooting of electronic circuits, components, instruments, and mechanical assemblies. This position is responsible for interpreting blueprints, drawings, and diagrams to determine and develop test specifications, methods, and procedures. The Electronics Test Technician performs both sub-assembly and system-level functional testing, diagnosing issues down to the component level for both analog and digital assemblies. Additionally, the technician prepares comprehensive technical reports summarizing findings and offering recommendations for technical solutions. The role may also include assisting in the selection and setup of specialized test equipment, ensuring that all processes are performed to the highest standard.

Professionals in this role work on assignments that are semi-routine, requiring occasional deviation from standard procedures. While established processes guide most tasks, instructions may be necessary for new assignments. A strong attention to detail, the ability to interpret and follow test process instructions, and a commitment to quality assurance are all essential for success in this position. The Electronics Test Technician is also responsible for carrying out production and field service returns testing, as well as troubleshooting. Demonstrating a high level of skill in root cause analysis is essential for quickly identifying and resolving issues. The ability to evaluate and troubleshoot complex electro-mechanical instruments is highly valued in this position.

Ideal candidates will bring at least two years of experience in manufacturing electronic test technician roles and possess a solid foundation in both the assembly and disassembly of electronic equipment using basic hand tools. They should be comfortable interpreting schematics and drawings, performing modifications, and conducting rework on both new and used sub-assemblies and systems. This is a dynamic role that may require overtime and weekend work in addition to a standard 40-hour workweek, offering an opportunity for those who are eager to contribute to a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

As an Electronics Test Technician, you will have the opportunity to work with a dedicated team, contribute to continuous improvement, and play a key role in ensuring the reliability and quality of products.
