Electrical Estimator Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Estimator to join our team on a full-time basis in Mount Joy, PA. The Electrical Estimator plays a vital role in supporting project managers and leadership by preparing accurate estimates for electrical projects. This position is responsible for ensuring the timely preparation of estimates that contribute to successful project bidding, help meet established sales goals, and support financial objectives for the organization. As an Electrical Estimator, you will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to evaluate project requirements, manage cost data, and contribute to the overall success of the company’s electrical construction initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Analyze blueprints, project documents, and specifications to accurately determine time, cost, materials, and labor estimates for electrical construction projects.
- Collaborate with clients, vendors, colleagues, and construction site personnel to discuss and resolve estimation-related questions and challenges.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with vendors, contractors, and other key project personnel to ensure access to the best resources and pricing.
- Review and adjust cost estimates in consultation with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors as project requirements evolve.
- Prepare detailed estimates for use in project planning, organizing, scheduling, and vendor or subcontractor selection processes.
- Communicate margin strategies and cost analysis to relevant project stakeholders to ensure alignment with company objectives.
- Evaluate material and labor requirements to determine the most cost-effective approach for producing or purchasing components.
- Maintain a comprehensive directory of suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors relevant to electrical projects.
- Establish and monitor cost control systems and reporting procedures used in project review and financial analysis.
- Lead project handoff meetings to ensure the project manager, foreman, and safety manager are fully informed of project expectations and requirements.
- Serve as a point of contact and subject matter expert for specialized software tools such as Vista and Accubid during the estimation process.
- Participate in project debrief discussions and execute assigned follow-up actions to drive continuous improvement.
- Develop and submit detailed electrical quotes for both industrial and commercial applications.

Qualifications
- Seven years of related experience in electrical estimating, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
- Proficiency in reviewing blueprints, project documentation, and technical specifications.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with clients, vendors, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Knowledge of estimation tools and software such as Vista and Accubid preferred.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe, inclusive, and professional work environment.
- Capacity to manage multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
