Electrical Engineer PE (Senior Electrical Engineer) - Summary
- Lead the planning, design, and execution of complex electrical systems for a wide variety of building and infrastructure projects.
- Provide hands-on technical leadership and mentorship to project teams, ensuring design excellence and compliance with all applicable codes and standards.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary group of professionals to deliver projects on time and within scope.
- Engage in all phases of project development, from proposal to construction administration.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of electrical systems, ensuring integration with all project disciplines.
- Prepare, review, and validate construction drawings, technical specifications, and cost estimates to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Act as a technical resource and quality control expert, overseeing electrical design deliverables prior to issuance.
- Support project teams independently throughout both the design and construction phases, addressing technical challenges and providing guidance as needed.
- Ensure that all electrical systems and designs meet or exceed applicable codes, standards, and client objectives.
- Participate in client meetings, offering technical insights and recommendations to support project success.
- Develop and nurture strong client relationships through regular communication and engagement.
- Mentor, train, and support junior and mid-level engineers and designers, fostering professional development within the team.
- Conduct site surveys, field investigations, and construction administration activities as required by project scope.
- Review and verify the accuracy of drawings and documentation submitted by vendors and external consultants.
- Assist with the preparation of proposals, including defining technical scopes of work and developing budget estimates.
- Communicate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively, both verbally and in written documentation, to a variety of audiences.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in the field of electrical engineering.
- Eligibility to qualify for professional engineering licensure (PE) required.
- Strong proficiency in electrical engineering principles, systems design, and design/build project delivery.
- Demonstrated expertise producing and reviewing technical calculations, plans, and specifications.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, and Bluebeam software.
- Experience with Microsoft Office tools, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
- Comprehensive knowledge of applicable electrical codes, regulations, and construction industry practices.
- Experience coordinating with adjacent engineering disciplines such as plumbing and fire protection.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interface effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- History of mentoring and developing less-experienced engineers and designers.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality technical deliverables.
