Electrical Engineer PE - Summary
- Lead and execute complex electrical engineering projects focused on healthcare facilities.
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the highest standards of quality and compliance.
- Drive innovation in electrical system design while maintaining strict adherence to regulatory codes.
- Mentor and guide junior engineering staff for continuous team improvement.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct field surveys and site assessments to inform electrical system design.
- Develop detailed electrical schematic designs and power single line/riser diagrams.
- Perform advanced electrical calculations using ETAP/SKM software (arc flash, coordination, short circuit, voltage drop, load flow).
- Select and specify lighting fixtures, power equipment, and design lighting/power circuiting.
- Design and coordinate lighting control systems and fire alarm systems in accordance with International Fire Code and NFPA 72.
- Create fire alarm riser diagrams, perform necessary calculations, and develop sequences of operation.
- Prepare comprehensive plans, elevations, schedules, and design details.
- Ensure all designs comply with California Electrical Code and Energy Standards, with a focus on medium- and low-voltage systems.
- Apply CAD/BIM standards and industry best practices throughout the design process.
- Coordinate with mechanical, plumbing, telecom, civil, structural, and architectural partners.
- Edit and finalize project specifications to meet client and code requirements.
- Lead multiple large-scale projects and collaborate with senior engineers and sub-consultants.
- Mentor junior and mid-level design engineers to foster skill development.
- Independently prepare client proposals and support business development initiatives.
- Strengthen client relationships through effective communication and project delivery.
- Administer construction phase services, including reviewing/responding to RFIs, evaluating equipment submittals, and preparing punch lists.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
- At least 10 years of relevant electrical engineering experience, ideally in healthcare environments.
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects and manage design teams effectively.
- Strong project management skills, with a history of successful project delivery.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, ETAP/SKM, and Revit software.
- Familiarity with HCAI requirements and California Electrical Code.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong record-keeping and documentation abilities.
