Electrical Engineer (EE) - Summary

Duties & Responsibilities
- Collaborate with product management and sales teams to evaluate project feasibility.
- Develop and document detailed product requirements and performance specifications.
- Plan and schedule projects, leading design reviews to ensure technical accuracy.
- Perform in-depth electrical and electronic design, including PCB assemblies, wiring, and cable assemblies.
- Manage prototype development activities, including sourcing components, building, and testing prototypes.
- Develop embedded software and coordinate with external software vendors.
- Conduct rigorous testing, debugging, and validation of electronics and software components.
- Oversee regulatory compliance processes (UL, CSA, CE), including pre-compliance testing and coordination with certified laboratories.
- Support vendor relationships, purchasing efforts, and outsourcing initiatives.
- Provide technical training and occasional field service support on installation, operation, and maintenance of products.
- Assist in the creation and maintenance of comprehensive product documentation, such as manuals and instructions.
- Troubleshoot field issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Support production by resolving electrical and equipment-related issues in a timely manner.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Engineering Manager.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
- 4 to 7 years of experience in product development or manufacturing environments.
- Proficiency in electronics design and schematic capture tools.
- Hands-on experience with embedded software programming (Assembly, C).
- Experience or willingness to learn PLC programming.
- In-depth knowledge of global safety and EMC standards (UL, CSA, CE).
- Strong understanding of engineering documentation and best practices.
- Excellent electro-mechanical aptitude and advanced problem-solving abilities.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes and plant operations.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities independently or as part of a team.
- Strong communication, organizational, and administrative skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and standard PC applications.
