Duties & Responsibilities
- Diagnose and resolve electrical and PCB assembly issues within production
- Troubleshoot analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuits at both board and system levels
- Conduct root cause analysis on failures and implement corrective actions
- Support repair department with failure analysis and engineering feedback
- Collaborate with the PCB department to improve first-pass yield and reduce rework
- Assist SMT processes including programming, solder paste printing, reflow, and through-hole assembly
- Troubleshoot SMT and PCB assembly equipment issues
- Conduct first article inspections and support quality control investigations
- Develop and enhance test protocols, fixtures, and jigs for PCB production
- Interpret PCB layouts, BOMs, and assembly drawings accurately
- Develop and document test procedures at the board and system level
- Support prototype validation and production testing
- Identify and implement Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Reliability (DFR) improvements
- Assist with Altium database updates, including part validation and obsolescence review
- Generate KPI reports and maintain troubleshooting documentation
- Work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Repair, Quality, and Procurement departments
- Support vendor part qualification and component evaluation
- Provide training and troubleshooting guidance to production staff
- Maintain strong communication with leadership regarding trends and improvement opportunities

Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field required
- 4-8 years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong background in PCB assembly, SMT processes, and production troubleshooting
- Experience supporting high-mix, low-to-mid volume manufacturing is preferred
- Experience in audio, wireless systems, or A/V manufacturing is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot analog and digital circuits
- Experience with SMT equipment, solder paste printers, reflow ovens, and wave soldering
- Proficiency in reading schematics, PCB layouts, and assembly drawings
- Familiarity with Altium, CC+, and ERP systems (Sage 100 preferred)
- Working knowledge of IPC and ESD standards
- Experience with oscilloscopes, RMS meters, power supplies, and signal generators
- Ability to develop production test fixtures and documentation
- Experience with EMC and EMI troubleshooting/testing
- Ability to perform routine tests such as Ground Bound Test and Dielectric Tests
- Primarily onsite work required with ability to lift up to 50–60 lbs and move between departments
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
