As an Electrical Controls Engineer, you will regularly travel to different facilities, collaborating with maintenance and engineering teams to maximize uptime and efficiency. This dynamic position offers exposure to a broad range of electrical and control systems, including Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), AC/DC drives, industrial motors, and advanced manufacturing machinery. In addition to technical responsibilities, you will lead and support projects related to process improvement, equipment upgrades, and new process development. The Electrical Controls Engineer will work closely with suppliers, perform research and development on new technologies, and ensure that all electrical systems are maintained through predictive and preventive strategies.

Electrical Controls Engineer - Summary- The Electrical Controls Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of electrical and control systems in manufacturing environments.
- Key focus areas include power distribution, electronic controls, equipment troubleshooting, regulatory compliance, and process improvement.
- This position involves both on-site and remote support across multiple manufacturing facilities, with frequent travel required.
- Provide technical support to facility maintenance teams on all electrical and electronic systems, ensuring equipment operates efficiently and safely.
- Test, troubleshoot, and diagnose issues with equipment such as PLCs, AC/DC drives, and industrial motors to minimize downtime.
- Write, modify, and maintain PLC programs, as well as update and manage electrical schematics and drawings for all manufacturing systems.
- Conduct arc flash studies and ensure all systems are compliant with federal, state, and local safety regulations and standards.
- Analyze electrical components and make recommendations to improve system reliability and reduce operational risks.
- Support special projects, including equipment selection, controls recommendations, installation, and commissioning of new manufacturing technologies.
- Manage project workflows to meet established performance, quality, and budget targets.
- Consult with equipment suppliers and participate in research and development of new processes and technologies for manufacturing applications.
- Implement predictive and preventive maintenance strategies on all electrical equipment to prolong lifespan and reduce unplanned outages.

- Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical or Electronic Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
- At least three years of experience in industrial manufacturing environments, with hands-on experience in PLC programming, CAD, AC/DC drives, and Lean Manufacturing practices.
- Strong troubleshooting skills, particularly with foreign production machinery (Italian/German preferred).
- Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) software is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to manage electrical and process controls across multiple manufacturing facilities.
- An equivalent combination of education and professional experience may be considered for qualified candidates.
