Drywall Project Manager Job Overview

The Drywall Project Manager position is essential for overseeing the successful execution of drywall construction projects, focusing on both project management and estimating responsibilities. In this full-time role, located in San Diego, CA, the Drywall Project Manager will be responsible for comprehensive project planning, resource allocation, scheduling, project accounting, and quality control. This position requires a high level of technical expertise and positive, effective communication with various stakeholders, including project teams, consultants, clients, prime contractors, and relevant authorities.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead overall project planning and scheduling for drywall construction projects, ensuring all milestones are met on time and within scope.
• Allocate and manage resources, including labor, materials, and equipment, to optimize project efficiency and quality.
• Maintain accurate project accounting, monitor budgets, and ensure effective cost control throughout project lifecycles.
• Provide technical direction and guidance to project teams, ensuring all work meets company and industry quality standards.
• Collaborate closely with consultants, clients, prime contractors, and authorities having jurisdiction to ensure all requirements and regulations are fulfilled.
• Utilize software tools such as MS Office, Bluebeam, Quick Bid, and On Screen Takeoff for estimating, documentation, and project management purposes.
• Implement and uphold compliance with all safety, quality, and regulatory standards throughout the duration of each drywall project.
• Maintain detailed project documentation, including schedules, meeting notes, and change orders, to ensure transparency and accountability.
• Foster a collaborative and positive work environment that encourages communication and continuous improvement among all project stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in drywall construction project management and estimating, with a strong understanding of industry best practices.
• Demonstrated expertise in drywall construction means and methods, particularly as they relate to commercial and institutional building renovation and new construction projects.
• Advanced proficiency with project management and estimating software, including MS Office, Bluebeam, Quick Bid, and On Screen Takeoff.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities, with a proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
