Document Control Specialist - Summary
The Document Control Specialist plays a crucial role in managing engineering documentation and technical data within a manufacturing front-end engineering environment. Responsible for updating logs, maintaining databases, and cataloguing files, the Document Control Specialist ensures the integrity and accuracy of critical project records, including engineering drawings, project reports, specifications, and compliance documentation. This position supports front-end engineering and the planning department by researching, creating, and maintaining documents necessary for production and compliance, such as first article inspection reports (AS9102), NPI documentation, and environmental compliance records (RoHS, REACH, SVHC). Duties & Responsibilities
- Update and maintain engineering documentation logs, databases, and catalogues to ensure information is current and easily accessible.
- Manage files for engineering drawings, project reports, product proposals, and technical specifications, ensuring compliance with standards for production and legal requirements.
- Prepare process and status reports, assign and monitor document numbers, and review documents for completeness and accuracy.
- Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) databases, software blueprints, and reproduction equipment such as copy or microfilm machines for effective documentation management and reproduction.
- Order and maintain supplies required for documentation reproduction services, enabling uninterrupted support for engineering and manufacturing teams.
- Assist front-end engineering by documenting all technical data necessary to create or modify work documents, ensuring alignment with project requirements.
- Create and maintain special first article inspection reports, including AS9102, NPI, and environmental compliance documentation.
- Support the planning department by creating duplicate (DUPE) jobs and generating reports for jobs requiring RoHS compliance, verifying that all materials meet necessary standards.
- Develop reports based on specification requirements for REACH and SVHC compliance, supporting company and regulatory standards.
- Coordinate with customer service to address scheduling and documentation issues, communicating effectively via telephone and email to resolve challenges promptly.
- Demonstrate adaptability by updating various department schedules quickly and accurately in a high-velocity work environment.
- Ensure document control processes are followed and maintained in accordance with internal procedures and industry standards.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum of 0-1 years of relevant experience in document control, data entry, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Previous experience with data entry and maintaining documentation databases.
- Familiarity with processing AS9102 for Class 3/Military job requirements.
- Experience processing environmental compliance reports, including RoHS, REACH, and SVHC.
- Understanding of GAC procedures and E-BOM/MC documentation processes.
- Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and efficiently update departmental schedules.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with customer service and internal teams.
- Detail-oriented approach with a commitment to accuracy and thoroughness in documentation.
- Willingness and ability to work overtime as needed to support project deadlines and business requirements.
