Director of Data Security and Governance (CISSP)
Arrivia is seeking a Director of Data Security and Governance (CISSP) to lead the organization’s efforts to protect sensitive data and ensure robust data governance across a complex, distributed, cloud-native technology landscape. In this pivotal full-time leadership role, you will be responsible for overseeing the implementation and management of critical data security controls, including classification, data loss prevention (DLP), encryption, key management, and tokenization. You will also be at the forefront of developing and enforcing data governance policies, including those that pertain to artificial intelligence and machine learning initiatives within the company.
Arrivia powers private travel marketplaces for many of the world’s leading membership and loyalty brands. The company’s platform provides exclusive access to discounted travel experiences and handles the underlying booking, servicing, and rewards processes. As the Director of Data Security and Governance (CISSP), you will collaborate closely with engineering, IT, and business leaders to ensure data security is seamlessly integrated into all aspects of the platform’s operations.
This role offers the opportunity to lead a high-impact team, directly influence organizational data security posture, and shape the company’s approach to data governance at scale. Reporting to the Chief Information Officer (CIO), the Director of Data Security and Governance (CISSP) will set the direction for data protection strategies, ensure compliance with regulatory standards such as ISO 27001, HIPAA, PCI, PII, and GDPR, and drive the adoption of best practices in cloud and SaaS environments. The position is designed for a dynamic professional with significant experience in data security, hands-on expertise with DLP tools like Microsoft Purview, Symantec, or Forcepoint, and a deep understanding of DSPM across diverse technology stacks.
To apply for this role, candidates are encouraged to complete a skills challenge that mirrors real-world data security scenarios faced at Arrivia. This approach emphasizes practical ability and governance judgment over traditional resume screening, giving all applicants the opportunity to demonstrate their expertise directly to the security leadership team.
