As a Dental Hygienist (RDH), you will deliver preventive dental care through comprehensive hygiene assessments, oral screenings, periodontal evaluations, and routine dental procedures. You will collaborate closely with the dental team to support individualized treatment plans, educate patients about oral health best practices, and maintain thorough and accurate documentation to ensure patient-centered care. Dental Hygienist (RDH) - Summary
- Provide preventive dental care and hygiene services under established protocols.
- Conduct oral health assessments, screenings, and periodontal evaluations.
- Support dental team members in delivering high-quality, patient-focused care.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions.
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with regulatory requirements.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform dental hygiene assessments and review patient medical/dental histories.
- Conduct oral health screenings and periodontal evaluations to detect signs of oral disease.
- Carry out preventive dental procedures, including cleanings, scaling, root planing, fluoride and sealant application, and use of desensitizing agents.
- Expose, process, and evaluate dental radiographs in accordance with certification and safety standards.
- Assist in early detection and documentation of oral diseases and abnormalities; report findings to the dentist.
- Educate patients on brushing, flossing, and dietary recommendations for oral health.
- Provide individualized preventive care guidance for long-term oral health.
- Clearly explain dental procedures, preventive treatments, and post-treatment care to patients.
- Work collaboratively with dentists and other team members to support comprehensive treatment plans.
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures as needed.
- Prepare patients and treatment areas to ensure comfort, safety, and clinical efficiency.
- Accurately document clinical findings, treatments, and patient education in dental records.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including OSHA, infection control, and HIPAA standards.
- Follow established sterilization and instrument processing protocols.
- Maintain active licensure and participate in continuing education for professional growth.
- Support efficient clinic operations by ensuring readiness of equipment, instruments, and supplies.
- Promote a safe, respectful, and patient-centered clinical environment.
- Assist with quality assurance initiatives and continuous improvement of clinical services.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited dental hygiene program (CODA-accredited).
- Active license to practice as a Dental Hygienist (RDH) in accordance with state requirements.
- Current AHA/ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Valid 10-digit NPI number.
- Certification in dental radiography.
- Minimum of 1 year of post-graduation specialized experience in dental hygiene.
- U.S. Citizenship required.

Other Relevant Information
