Dental Assistant (CDA) - Summary
- Support dental practitioners by preparing rooms, assisting with instruments, and ensuring a comfortable patient experience.
- Act as a liaison between patients and the care team, helping with both clinical and administrative functions.
- Uphold the standards, mission, vision, and values of the organization while adhering to established protocols and procedures.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist dentists and hygienists with dental procedures, handling instruments and materials efficiently.
- Prepare treatment rooms for dental procedures and ensure cleanliness before and after patient visits.
- Greet patients upon arrival, escort them from the waiting area to the treatment room, and provide a welcoming environment.
- Obtain patient vitals, such as blood pressure and weight, and document these for review by the dentist.
- Take dental radiographs and intra-oral images as required for patient evaluation.
- Collect and record patient medical histories, including current medications, medical conditions, and pre-medication requirements.
- Document patients’ smoking status and any other pertinent health information.
- Perform chairside assistance during clinical procedures as directed by attending dentists.
- Execute laboratory tasks, including denture and crown preparation, to support restorative procedures.
- Verify that all laboratory cases required for upcoming appointments are available and properly managed.
- Maintain rigorous standards for infection control through proper cleaning and sterilization of dental instruments.
- Perform front desk reception duties when needed, such as scheduling appointments and answering patient inquiries.

Qualifications & Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Active registration as a Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) in accordance with state regulations.
- Current DANB (Dental Assisting National Board) certification is mandatory.
- Valid CPR certification must be maintained throughout employment.
- Prior front desk or reception experience is advantageous but not required.
- Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with patients and colleagues.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to upholding clinical best practices.
