Duties & Responsibilities
- Deburr various metal parts using stationary abrasive wheels, hand-held rotary air tools, and hand scraping devices.
- Apply abrasives to parts to eliminate sharp edges resulting from machining.
- Inspect and measure critical dimensions to verify compliance with blueprint specifications, ensuring tolerances of up to +/- .0002 are met.
- Operate drill presses equipped with wire brushes and conical burr cutters for specific finishing tasks.
- Clean and prepare parts using appropriate solvents and cleaning agents.
- Utilize an array of deburring equipment efficiently and safely.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including benches, shelves, carts, and floors, to support a safe and productive environment.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives and contribute ideas for enhancing workflow efficiency.
- Complete other tasks and responsibilities as directed by supervisory staff to support production goals.

Qualifications & Requirements
- High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of related experience in deburring, machining, or a similar manufacturing environment preferred.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to write routine reports and communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
- Solid math skills, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- Capacity to compute rates, ratios, and percentages, and to interpret bar graphs as needed for production metrics.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and solve problems involving several concrete variables in standardized production situations.
- Basic computer literacy, including familiarity with Windows operating systems, internet browsers, and ERP/inventory management systems.
- Physically able to perform frequent handling, reaching, talking, hearing, and occasional standing, sitting, walking, typing, and lifting up to 25 lbs.
- Occasional requirement to lift or move heavier objects (up to 50 lbs) and to perform rare activities such as climbing, stooping, or kneeling.
- Vision requirements include frequent close vision and depth perception, with occasional needs for color and peripheral vision.
