Data Security Analyst - Summary
The Data Security Analyst is responsible for reviewing and analyzing fraud alerts, monitoring transaction activity, and investigating security-related events. This role requires the use of advanced fraud detection and monitoring tools to identify trends, suspicious activities, and potential threats to the organization. The Data Security Analyst will create metrics, dashboards, and reports to support fraud monitoring efforts and will escalate high-risk incidents as necessary. Duties & Responsibilities
- Review and analyze fraud alerts, transaction activity, and security-related events using established tools and procedures.
- Identify fraud trends, suspicious activity, and potential indicators of fraudulent behavior through detailed queries, reports, and data analysis.
- Create and maintain operational metrics, dashboards, and reports to support ongoing fraud monitoring and program performance.
- Conduct initial reviews and analyses of fraud alerts, documenting findings in accordance with established protocols.
- Escalate validated or high-risk fraud events to senior analysts, investigators, or management for further review and action.
- Collaborate with various departments to enhance fraud prevention and detection strategies.
- Stay current on best practices and emerging trends in data security, fraud analysis, and risk management.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of full-time experience in cybersecurity, information security, fraud analysis, systems analysis, programming, computer operations, IT business analysis, or related IT fields.
- A bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, or a related technical field may substitute for one year of required experience.
- Experience with risk management frameworks, especially those from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).
- Proficiency with various security monitoring tools, network and web assessment tools, and scripting languages.
- Relevant security certifications such as Systems Security Certified Professional (SSCP), CompTIA Security+, or Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE).
