Data Scientist - Summary- Key member of an analytics team supporting a global shipping and logistics leader
- Responsible for modeling, analyzing, and interpreting large sets of data from multiple sources
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams to develop solutions that enhance customer experience and product performance
- Works with modern cloud-based analytics tools and technologies, including Azure and Power BI
- Align with subject matter experts to outline analytic requirements and devise analytics that meet business needs
- Develop, test, and implement data models to optimize and improve e-commerce workflows and outcomes
- Understand data flows within product portfolios and define solutions to capture relevant data for performance measurement
- Integrate emerging machine learning and pattern recognition algorithms into product and business solutions
- Serve as a subject matter expert for domestic product portfolio data sources, defining and consolidating data interfaces
- Conduct analyses of customer behaviors, market trends, and the competitive landscape to inform business strategies
- Build and link Azure-based reports to Power BI dashboards for advanced analytics and business intelligence
- Maintain strong SQL coding skills to support data-driven solutions

- Bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred) in a quantitative discipline such as statistics, mathematics, operations research, engineering, data science, or computer science from an accredited institution
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in machine learning, data mining, advanced analytics, statistical analysis, or software engineering focused on data analysis
- Demonstrated experience in data modeling, predictive analytics, and/or machine learning
- Hands-on expertise with Azure and Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS), Power BI, Azure Synapse, Azure Data Explorer, and SQL
- Strong SQL coding skills required
- Analytical mindset with business acumen and excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Permanent work authorization required; sponsorship is not available
- Experienced Data Scientist with a strong foundation in statistical analysis, machine learning, and cloud-based analytics platforms
- Comfortable working independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams
- Proficiency with modern data analytics tools and programming languages such as Python is a plus
- Excellent communicator capable of translating complex data insights into actionable business recommendations
- Proactive learner who stays current with industry trends and emerging technologies
- Demonstrates integrity, professionalism, and a commitment to diversity and inclusion
- Experience with additional data analytics tools, frameworks such as Hadoop, and workflow toolkits like Kubeflow or Spark is advantageous
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Access will be considered a plus
