Data Loss Prevention (DLP) & Data Governance Manager - Summary
- Lead and manage enterprise data protection and governance initiatives
- Design and implement data classification, labeling, and cataloging programs
- Oversee deployment and configuration of Microsoft Purview and Varonis for secure data discovery, permission analysis, and data labeling
- Ensure AI systems, including Microsoft 365 Copilot, do not access sensitive or restricted information
- Collaborate with IT, security, and procurement teams to develop and implement data governance strategies
- Serve as an organizational expert in data governance and information protection, shaping security architecture and policy
Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead enterprise-wide data governance programs, focusing on the protection and classification of sensitive information
- Develop and execute data labeling and classification initiatives in alignment with security and compliance objectives
- Utilize tools such as Microsoft Purview and Varonis to manage data discovery, cataloging, permissions, and protection
- Establish and refine processes to ensure that emerging technologies, such as AI-powered assistants, adhere to data privacy and security restrictions
- Collaborate with stakeholders across IT, security, and procurement to ensure holistic data protection strategies are in place
- Influence organizational policies related to data governance, security architecture, and fair vendor practices
- Act as a go-to resource for data protection and governance expertise, supporting both operational and strategic initiatives

Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum of 6 years’ experience in Data Governance and Information Protection
- Proven expertise in Data Loss Prevention (DLP) and managing enterprise data governance programs
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Purview and Varonis for data discovery, permissions, labeling, and cataloging
- Deep understanding of data security architecture and policy design
- Ability to lead large-scale programs and influence without direct authority
- Demonstrated ability to serve as the primary subject matter expert for data governance within an organization
