Data Engineer - Summary
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and analytics environments utilizing both on-premises and cloud technologies.
- Translate business and technical requirements into reliable data solutions supporting analytics, forecasting, and reporting.
- Lead end-to-end delivery of data engineering initiatives, ensuring high-quality results throughout planning, design, development, testing, and deployment.
- Implement data models, metadata strategies, data quality controls, and data governance best practices.
- Develop solutions leveraging real-time streaming, API integrations, and change data capture techniques.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Architect and maintain secure, reliable, and scalable data pipelines for structured and unstructured data sources.
- Develop and optimize data lakes, data warehouses, and analytics platforms utilizing leading cloud solutions such as Microsoft Azure.
- Translate complex business requirements into actionable technical specifications and robust data solutions.
- Implement and maintain data models, metadata management, and data quality processes to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver technical mentorship and document solution designs and standards.
- Develop API-driven and streaming data integrations to enable real-time data processing and analytics.
- Support platform stability by managing system tickets, requests, and ensuring overall system performance and availability.
- Uphold data security, privacy, and compliance in alignment with regulatory standards and organizational policies.
- Engage with business stakeholders to understand their data needs and deliver effective, high-quality solutions for decision support.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- At least 7 years of professional experience in data engineering or a similar technical field, demonstrating increasing responsibility.
- Hands-on experience building and supporting modern data platforms, data lakes, and data warehouse environments.
- Strong proficiency in SQL, relational, and dimensional data modeling.
- Experience with leading cloud data tools, with a preference for Microsoft Azure, and enterprise data warehouse solutions.
- Proficiency with ETL development using enterprise-grade platforms such as Talend or Informatica.
- Experience developing streaming and API-driven data integrations.
- Familiarity with data governance, metadata management, data cleansing, and security practices.
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical projects and work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex findings to both technical and business audiences.
