In this role, the Cybersecurity Engineer will be responsible for the design, implementation, and administration of security systems across both cloud and on-premises environments. Cybersecurity Engineer (CISSP) - Summary
- Key contributor to enterprise cybersecurity operations
- Leverages Microsoft security stack (Azure, M365, Sentinel, Defender) to protect critical systems

- Ensures compliance with industry standards, such as NIST, HIPAA, and SOX
Duties & Responsibilities
- Design and implement enterprise security architecture for both cloud and on-premises environments
- Conduct vulnerability assessments, risk analyses, and comprehensive security system reviews
- Manage and optimize Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools, including data ingestion, parsing, dashboard creation, and custom query development
- Administer and monitor endpoint detection, identity and access management, and firewall/URL filtering solutions
- Lead investigations of potential security incidents, executing proactive threat hunting and driving remediation efforts
- Maintain optimal security posture within Microsoft cloud environments, including Azure, M365, Sentinel, and Defender
- Support internal and external audits (NIST, HIPAA, SOX) and ensure ongoing compliance with security policies
- Mentor and train junior team members on cybersecurity best practices, tools, and new technologies
- Research and evaluate new tools and methodologies to continuously enhance security operations
- Participate in an on-call rotation and troubleshoot operational security issues as needed
- Collaborate across IT and business units to align security strategies with organizational objectives

Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent work experience
- 7+ years of progressive experience in cybersecurity engineering
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification required
- Extensive hands-on experience with SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk) and vulnerability management tools (e.g., Tenable)
- Demonstrated expertise in Microsoft security technologies, including Azure Active Directory, Microsoft Defender, and Microsoft Sentinel
- Strong understanding of network design, protocols, and IP sub-netting
- Proven ability to investigate, remediate, and prevent cyber threats in large-scale enterprise environments
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to mentor and collaborate cross-functionally
