ARC Group is seeking a skilled Cybersecurity Engineer for a contract role with the potential for extension or conversion to full-time employment. This position offers the flexibility of remote work, operating during eastern time zone business hours. Key Responsibilities
- Research, evaluate, validate, and recommend technical security solutions; support the design, build, test, and implementation of security systems across the enterprise.
- Collaborate with product vendors and service providers to maintain and enhance security capabilities and processes.
- Oversee the management of system and application environments, configurations, policies, and operational activities for assigned security technologies.
- Monitor assigned security systems, generate performance reports, and recommend improvements to ensure optimal operation.
- Respond to and manage security technology incidents, including troubleshooting hardware or software, resolving alerts, and executing remediation tasks.
- Work closely with IT teams to ensure timely resolution of security-related requests and secure necessary approvals for changes.
- Develop and maintain operational documentation, such as procedures, engineering diagrams, and knowledge base articles for security systems.
- Collect, analyze, and present data on security solutions to peers, leadership, and other stakeholders.
- Assist in system migrations, upgrades, and decommissioning, evaluating risks and impacts associated with these changes.
- Support disaster recovery planning, design, and implementation for security technologies within the organization.
- Execute remediation actions based on findings from vulnerability assessments or audits.
- Provide training regarding security capabilities, processes, and operational procedures to relevant team members.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or equivalent professional experience.
- Work Experience:
- Minimum of 4 years of related professional experience.
- At least 2 years of experience in cybersecurity roles.
- At least 2 years of experience with IT infrastructure.
- Certifications: SSCP certification required within 180 days of hire.
- Technical Skills and Knowledge:
- Solid understanding of TCP/IP networking principles.
- Familiarity with basic security concepts and controls for networks, applications, and operating systems.
- Knowledge of vulnerability and patch management processes.
- Strong analytical and documentation abilities.
- Effective problem-solving and interpersonal communication skills.
- Motivation to learn, adapt, and contribute within a collaborative team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Illumio, Tetration, or Guardicore security platforms.
- Familiarity with project management methodologies such as Agile, Lean, or SAFe.
- Understanding of security reference architecture standards and blueprints.
