Cybersecurity Architect (CISSP, CISM) Job Description
ARC Group is seeking a skilled and experienced Cybersecurity Architect for a contract opportunity with the potential to extend or convert to a full-time role. Key Responsibilities
- Adhere to enterprise architecture standards, ensuring that security technology standards and industry best practices are maintained across the organization.
- Design and implement robust security strategies, architectures, and platforms to safeguard organizational assets and data.
- Perform enterprise due-diligence activities including security monitoring, reporting, and maintaining metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of the security program and established controls.
- Integrate necessary security controls within all technical design processes and participate in security governance activities.
- Collaborate with IT security teams across various business areas and client groups, providing subject matter expertise on security architecture.
- Troubleshoot security-related issues, recommend solutions, and implement action plans for resolution.
- Lead efforts to examine technology vision, opportunities, and challenges, building consensus around security architecture principles.
- Evaluate, select, and assist in the implementation of technology solutions, providing detailed analysis of alternatives and the impact on security.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced Security Architects.
- Participate in project teams, advising on security standards and potential impacts on technology architecture.
- Investigate and report security threats and incidents, and conduct post-event security reviews.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation, including procedures, architecture blueprints, and operational guides.
- Assess security architecture designs for strengths and vulnerabilities, considering performance, confidentiality, integrity, availability, access, and cost of ownership.
- Facilitate smooth project handoffs by preparing documentation and supporting transitions.
- Design and select reusable design components and patterns, developing prototypes and resolving issues as they arise.
- Build and maintain partnerships with IT and business stakeholders to evaluate and enhance security controls.
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices, benchmarking technology strategies, and preparing reports and presentations on security solutions.
- Recommend and promote the implementation of innovative technologies and methods to improve business efficiency and security posture.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the healthcare industry is preferred.
- Relevant Information Security certifications, such as CISSP or CISM, are highly desirable.
- Proficiency with Agile methodology.
- In-depth knowledge of IT Infrastructure Services and security controls.
- Expertise in Network Security, including firewalls, perimeter defenses, load balancers, and proxy servers.
- Experience with security solutions for end-point, remote access, network management, messaging, collaboration, and monitoring.
- Familiarity with big data architectures (e.g., Hadoop, Kafka, Redis, Object Storage).
- Cloud security expertise, especially with AWS and Microsoft Azure architectures and solutions.
- Strong understanding of Identity and Access Management (IAM), including federation, user-managed access, single sign-on, OAuth, and OpenID.
- Experience securing digital engagement models, such as mobile and IoT devices.
- Security engineering experience with API gateways, web services, JSON Web Tokens, and SOAP.
- Knowledge of CMS ARS controls and the ability to design security controls to support compliance objectives.
Required Experience and Education
- A minimum of 5 years of related work experience in IT architecture, with progressive responsibilities.
- Bachelor's degree in a related IT field or equivalent work experience.
- CISSP certification or the ability to obtain it within 180 days if converted to a full-time role.
