The hospital is a recognized Level One Trauma Center, which means you will encounter a variety of challenging and rewarding cases, including but not limited to coronary artery bypass grafts (CABGs), surgical and transcatheter aortic valve replacements (TAVR), and thoracic endovascular aortic repairs (TEVAR).
The work schedule for this CVICU Nurse Practitioner (NP) - Locum position is designed to accommodate multiple preferences, including 3-4 night shifts per week, 6 shifts on with 8 shifts off, or 7 shifts on with 7 shifts off. This flexibility makes it an excellent fit for those seeking work-life balance while maintaining a strong clinical presence. The contract length is set for a minimum of six months, with options to extend based on mutual agreement and program needs.
Within this role, nurse practitioners will have direct involvement in the management of approximately 800+ cardiac cases annually. Responsibilities include managing patients with cardiogenic shock—with and without mechanical circulatory support—and executing high-quality clinical care under the supervision of the cardiac intensivist. You will also be expected to follow all state licensure regulations and hospital protocols to ensure the highest standard of care.
