CT Technologist (CT Tech, Computed Tomography Technologist) - Summary
- Perform high-quality computed tomography (CT) imaging procedures in accordance with established protocols and physician orders.
- Ensure patient safety and comfort throughout all stages of CT examinations.
- Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver accurate and timely diagnostic images.
- Participate in ongoing education and maintain certifications relevant to the CT Technologist (CT Tech, Computed Tomography Technologist) role.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Obtain and analyze CT images following department protocols; perform multi-planar and 3D image reconstructions as required.
- Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of CT algorithms and select appropriate technical parameters for different anatomical regions.
- Administer oral and intravenous contrast agents to adult and pediatric patients, following safety protocols and verifying necessary lab values.
- Establish intravenous lines and utilize safe injection techniques for contrast administration.
- Maintain proficiency with Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS), EMR, EPIC, and related imaging software.
- Verify patient identification and demographic information to ensure accuracy and compliance with hospital policy.
- Assist with quality control, image transmission, order processing, and charge entry as part of the imaging workflow.
- Support new employees and students by providing guidance and sharing expertise as needed.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Registered with the American Registry of Radiological Sciences or eligible for registry (diploma from accredited program required for registry-eligible candidates).
- Advanced certification in computed tomography (CT) required within one year of employment.
- Current competency in Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (HCP BLS) required and must be maintained.
- Completion of an accredited radiologic science educational program or expected completion within 3 months of application.
