CT Technologist (ARRT, ASRT) / Radiologic Technologist - Summary
- Full-time position in a reputable healthcare facility with a focus on diagnostic imaging.
- Operate CT scanners and related technology to perform high-quality diagnostic scans.
- Collaborate with medical teams to provide accurate images for patient diagnosis and treatment planning.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality computed tomography (CT) scans in accordance with established protocols and physician orders.
- Administer oral and intravenous (IV) contrast agents following strict safety procedures.
- Maintain thorough knowledge and effective use of Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) for data storage and retrieval.
- Ensure patient comfort, safety, and privacy throughout imaging procedures, providing clear explanations and answering questions as needed.
- Participate in rotating shifts, including third shift coverage (e.g., Sunday-Tuesday 7p-7a or Wednesday-Friday 7p-7a) with rotating weekend and on-call responsibilities.
- Document all procedures, patient interactions, and technical settings accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
- Monitor CT equipment functionality, report malfunctions or issues, and assist with routine maintenance and quality assurance protocols.
- Practice infection control and radiation safety measures at all times to protect patients, staff, and oneself.
- Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care and accurate diagnostic results.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited radiologic technology program.
- Board eligible for ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification.
- Active certifications with ASRT (American Society of Radiologic Technologists) and ARRT are required.
- Hold a valid permit to practice radiology as required by the State of Iowa.
- Demonstrate basic life-saving skills; current BLS certification is preferred if already employed in the field.
- Advanced certification in CT (computed tomography) is required within one year of employment.
