The Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) plays a pivotal role in delivering advanced nursing care in high-acuity environments, specifically within the Coronary Care Unit (CCU). This full-time position is essential for ensuring the highest standards of patient care, safety, and compliance with regulatory guidelines, including Title 22, CMS, and The Joint Commission standards. The Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) is expected to demonstrate exceptional clinical skills, adaptability, and professionalism while providing care to patients with complex cardiac and critical conditions. In addition to primary responsibilities in the CCU, the CCRN must be willing to float to related units such as the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) and Medical-Surgical Telemetry (MS Tele), ensuring continuity of quality nursing care across similar departments.

Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) - Summary
- Provide specialized direct nursing care to patients with acute and critical cardiac conditions in the Coronary Care Unit (CCU).
- Ensure adherence to all established clinical protocols and quality standards in accordance with Title 22, CMS, and The Joint Commission.
- Demonstrate flexibility and readiness to float between CCU, PCU, and MS Tele units based on patient care needs and hospital requirements.
- Engage in continuous learning and skill development to maintain expertise in critical care nursing practices.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Adhere to 1:1 patient criteria and follow classification systems and staffing guidelines specific to the CCU.
- Organize and prioritize work to efficiently manage multiple tasks in a high-activity, fast-paced environment.
- Provide support with clerical duties and assist unlicensed personnel as appropriate within the nursing scope of practice.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of CCU security measures, visitation policies, and hospital-wide quality improvement initiatives.
- Follow strict safety protocols to minimize exposure risks to infectious diseases, hazardous chemicals, and radiation.
- Demonstrate effective communication with interdisciplinary care teams, patients, and families to support optimal patient outcomes.
- Participate in emergency and high-census situations, adapting to increased workloads while maintaining quality care delivery.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of California.
- Minimum of two (2) years of acute care nursing experience, with at least one (1) year of travel nursing experience preferred.
- Current certifications in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) required.
- Demonstrated proficiency in hospital information technology systems and electronic health record (EHR) management.
- Ability to work under stressful and emotionally demanding conditions while maintaining professionalism and compassion.
- Willingness and capability to float to multiple care units, including PCU and MS Tele, as needed.
- Strict adherence to safety and infection control protocols in all work settings.
