The Critical Care Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA), also known as an Advanced Practice Provider (APP), plays a vital role in delivering high-quality care to critically ill patients in a multi-specialty intensive care unit (ICU). This full-time, nocturnist position is an excellent opportunity for experienced critical care APPs who are passionate about providing advanced clinical care in a dynamic, high-acuity hospital environment. - Deliver advanced critical care to ICU patients during nocturnal shifts
- Work collaboratively with attending physicians and multidisciplinary teams
- Manage a patient census of 10-15 per APP in a high-acuity hospital ICU setting
- Utilize Cerner EMR for thorough clinical documentation
Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of critically ill patients and develop individualized care plans in collaboration with attending physicians
- Perform ongoing monitoring and evaluation of patient conditions throughout each shift
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests and coordinate interventions as indicated
- Communicate effectively with ICU nursing staff and participate in multidisciplinary rounds
- Document history and physicals, consultations, event/follow-up notes, and procedure notes in Cerner EMR
- Perform invasive bedside procedures, including central line insertions (CVLs, vascaths, introducers) and arterial line insertions
- Ensure timely and accurate updates to patient care teams regarding dynamic clinical changes
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and relevant regulations

Qualifications & Requirements
- Active and unrestricted state license as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA)
- Board certification in Acute Care required for Nurse Practitioners
- Active DEA license or willingness to obtain/transfer as required
- Experience in critical care or acute care settings strongly preferred
- Proficiency with Cerner EMR or similar electronic medical record systems
- Competence in performing invasive procedures such as central and arterial line placements
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work three 12-hour nocturnal shifts per week (7:00pm – 7:30am)
