Cook Trainee - Summary
As a Cook Trainee, you will play an active role in supporting kitchen operations by preparing and cooking products according to batch requirements. The Cook Trainee will engage with commercial equipment, handle substantial quantities of ingredients, and ensure that all production steps are carried out efficiently and accurately. Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook sauces in large commercial kettles, following specific batch instructions to maintain consistency and quality.
- Accurately measure ingredients according to recipe requirements, with training provided to develop proficiency in this area.
- Ensure all bags of ingredients are properly labeled, including listing defined ingredients to ensure compliance with production standards and food safety guidelines.
- Utilize electric or manual pallet jacks to safely transport ingredient bags and packages, typically weighing between 10 to 50 pounds, within the kitchen or production area.
- Support the organization and cleanliness of the work area by following established protocols and contributing to regular sanitation practices.
- Collaborate effectively with other kitchen staff, supervisors, and team members to achieve daily production goals.
- Learn and adhere to all safety procedures, including proper handling of equipment, lifting techniques, and workplace safety practices.
- Assist with inventory management by reporting ingredient usage and shortages to supervisors as needed.
- Participate in on-the-job training sessions to develop culinary techniques and expand job-related knowledge.
- Operate a pallet jack and, if qualified, a forklift to move heavy items as required by the production schedule.

Qualifications & Requirements
