Construction Superintendent Job Overview
The Construction Superintendent position offers an excellent opportunity for skilled professionals to oversee and manage onsite construction activities for commercial and public works projects. This full-time role is based in Beverly Hills, CA and involves working closely with project managers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to quality and safety standards. As a Construction Superintendent, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality construction services while supporting a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all aspects of onsite construction for assigned projects, ensuring efficient use of materials, labor, equipment, and contractors.
- Coordinate subcontractors and multi-prime construction teams to ensure seamless workflow and adherence to project schedules.
- Maintain positive working relationships with owners, architects, consultants, and contractors to facilitate effective communication and project success.
- Supervise and manage self-performed work items, ensuring tasks are completed to high standards.
- Process requests for clarifications and update as-built drawings as the project progresses.
- Track project costs and other key metrics to ensure proper oversight of the construction process.
- Develop initial project schedules and update them regularly throughout the life cycle of each project.
- Ensure progress photos are taken and documented throughout construction.
- Prepare accurate and timely daily reports to keep all stakeholders informed of project status.
- Comply with all contract documents and verify that the quality of materials and workmanship meets required specifications and standards.
- Review shop drawings and submittals to ensure proper coordination of work across various trades.
- Support the Project Manager in identifying and estimating changes in project scope.
- Take a leadership role in implementing project and company safety plans, promoting a safe work environment for all team members.
- Collaborate closely with the Project Manager to achieve project objectives and resolve any challenges that arise.
Qualifications and Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in commercial and public works construction is preferred.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong numerical skills.
- Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic job site environment.
- Demonstrated ability to resolve issues independently, using sound judgment and adherence to company and project standards.
- Strong logical reasoning and quick learning capabilities.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills are essential for success in this role.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required; experience with Procore and MS Project scheduling software is a plus.
- A valid driver's license and an acceptable driving history are required for this full-time position in Beverly Hills, CA.
