Construction Superintendent Overview
TriStarr's client is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to join their dynamic and growing team on a full-time basis in York, PA. The Construction Superintendent plays an essential leadership role on project sites, ensuring that all phases of construction are completed on schedule, within budget, and to the company’s high standards of quality and safety. Key Responsibilities
- Plan and organize jobsite manpower and equipment to ensure timely and efficient project completion.
- Coordinate labor requirements and develop look ahead schedules for site staffing in collaboration with management personnel.
- Direct, train, and evaluate craftsmen and laborers, fostering a productive and safe work environment.
- Communicate project expectations, contract requirements, and subcontractor scopes of work to all relevant crews.
- Review projected work with the project manager during project start-up and maintain open communication throughout project completion.
- Promptly communicate any change requests from the owner to the project manager and gather information necessary for pricing adjustments.
- Monitor jobsite safety, ensuring compliance with company policies and safety regulations at all times.
- Maintain cleanliness and proper functionality of company tools, equipment, and vehicles.
- Report all incidents immediately to the proper personnel, followed by a written report within twenty-four hours.
- Monitor quality and production to consistently meet project specifications and standards.
- Maintain a neat, organized, and professional jobsite at all times.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety rules, conducting oneself in a professional and ethical manner as a company representative.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information.
- Valid Driver’s License is required.
- Strong multi-tasking abilities and a proven self-directed work ethic.
- Commitment to ensuring the health and safety of all team members on the jobsite.
- Responsibility for the outcomes and results of assigned projects.
- Willingness and ability to wear common protective or safety equipment as needed on site.
- Exceptional organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to work accurately under deadlines and deliver high-quality results.
- Keen attention to detail and a strong sense of accountability.
- Excellent management, interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills, both written and oral.
- Basic proficiency in computers and common software applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team setting.
Education and Experience
- Five (5) years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Certification in structural steel is required for this position.
