Construction Superintendent - SummaryThe Construction Superintendent is responsible for the on-site supervision and administration of all aspects of construction projects. This includes overseeing the installation and management of mechanical and plumbing systems, ensuring compliance with company safety programs, and maintaining a healthy work environment for all team members. The role requires strong leadership abilities, technical knowledge, and a proactive approach to problem-solving, making it an excellent fit for candidates with extensive experience in the mechanical and plumbing trades.
Duties & Responsibilities- Supervise all field operations and on-site activities for commercial and industrial mechanical and plumbing projects.
- Establish clear project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards in line with corporate guidelines.
- Initiate and maintain effective communication and liaison with clients, architects, and engineering contacts to facilitate project progress.
- Direct, manage, and lead project field staff to ensure work is completed on schedule and within budget.
- Monitor project quality and ensure all systems are installed according to specifications and codes.
- Manage field manpower scheduling to achieve or improve labor budgets and maintain productivity.
- Participate in project and strategy meetings as a representative of the company, providing input and updates as needed.
- Collaborate closely with project managers to align on project deliverables and timelines.
- Address and resolve potentially serious situations by implementing effective corrective measures.
- Take on additional responsibilities as assigned by company leadership, demonstrating flexibility and commitment to organizational success.

- Minimum of 10 years verifiable experience in plumbing, piping, or sheet metal trades.
- At least 5 years of proven experience in supervisory roles within the construction industry.
- In-depth understanding of plumbing blueprints, specifications, and building codes.
- Comprehensive knowledge of other major construction disciplines’ blueprints and specifications.
- Proficiency in the installation and management of plumbing, piping, and ductwork systems, including methods from domestic water to medical gas.
- Strong organizational, scheduling, and project management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with employees, clients, and partners.
- Demonstrated capability to supervise multiple foremen and large field teams.
