As a Construction Superintendent, you will be responsible for providing leadership, supervision, and project management expertise for a wide range of construction activities, from small-scale installations to large, complex projects involving multiple plumbing and mechanical systems. Key Responsibilities- Supervise and manage all phases of mechanical and plumbing system installations on commercial and industrial projects, ranging from basic to highly complex builds.
- Establish project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards, ensuring alignment with corporate guidelines and industry best practices.
- Serve as the primary liaison between clients, architects, and engineering contacts to facilitate seamless construction activities and effective communication.
- Lead, direct, and manage field personnel to ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget constraints, implementing corrective measures when necessary.
- Represent the company in project and strategy meetings, contributing to overall project planning and execution.
- Oversee the quality control of all installed products and systems, ensuring compliance with specifications, blueprints, and regulatory codes.
- Manage and schedule manpower resources effectively to maximize productivity and maintain or improve labor budgets.
- Collaborate closely with project managers and other stakeholders to coordinate project activities and resolve potential issues.
- Take on additional responsibilities as directed by corporate executives to support company goals and project success.
- At least 10 years of verifiable experience in the plumbing, piping, or sheet metal trades, with a minimum of 5 years in a supervisory capacity.
- Comprehensive knowledge of plumbing blueprints, specifications, and relevant building codes.
- Strong understanding of other major craft blueprints and interdisciplinary coordination.
- Demonstrated expertise in all plumbing systems, including installation methods for domestic water, medical gas, and related piping systems.
- Proficient in the installation methods for piping and ductwork systems across various project types.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with employees, clients, and external stakeholders.
- Proven ability to supervise multiple foremen and manage diverse teams on complex projects.
- Strong organizational and scheduling skills, with a track record of meeting project deadlines and milestones.
