Construction Superintendent OverviewThe Construction Superintendent plays a vital leadership role within mechanical and plumbing commercial and industrial projects. This full-time position, based in Midland, TX, is responsible for overseeing the successful execution of projects of varying complexity, from small commercial installations to large-scale, multifaceted construction undertakings. As a Construction Superintendent, you will ensure that all work is completed efficiently, according to established standards, and within the allocated timelines and budget constraints. Key Responsibilities- Supervise all on-site construction activities, ensuring compliance with blueprints, codes, and industry best practices for plumbing, piping, and ductwork systems.
- Establish clear project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards in alignment with company policies and project requirements.
- Serve as the primary liaison between the company, clients, architects, and engineers to support seamless project execution and resolve any issues that arise during the construction process.
- Direct and lead project field manpower, managing schedules to ensure timely completion of tasks while adhering to budgetary guidelines.
- Represent the company at project and strategy meetings, contributing insights and ensuring that the company's interests are well represented.
- Maintain a high standard of quality for all installed systems, conducting regular inspections and implementing corrective measures as needed.
- Coordinate manpower needs, optimizing scheduling to maintain or improve labor budgets and project efficiency.
- Collaborate closely with the project manager to ensure alignment on project goals, timelines, and resource allocation.
- Take on additional responsibilities as assigned by company leadership, demonstrating flexibility and commitment to organizational goals.
- Assist in administering and upholding the company safety program to ensure a safe and healthy work environment for all personnel.
- Minimum of 10 years of verifiable experience in the plumbing, piping, or sheet metal trades, with at least 5 years in a supervisory capacity.
- Comprehensive understanding of plumbing blueprints, specifications, codes, and installation methods, including domestic water and medical gas systems.
- Knowledge of other major craft blueprints and familiarity with ductwork and piping system installation means and methods.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with project teams, clients, and employees at all levels.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise and coordinate multiple foremen, manage competing priorities, and meet project deadlines.
- Proficiency in project scheduling and labor management to drive project success.
