Construction Superintendent Position OverviewThe Construction Superintendent plays a critical role in managing and supervising construction projects of varying scopes, from small-scale commercial installations to large, multifaceted developments. As a full-time Construction Superintendent in Dallas, TX, you will oversee work involving plumbing, piping, and sheet metal systems, ensuring all phases of construction meet organizational and industry standards. This leadership role requires a deep understanding of commercial construction practices, with a focus on maintaining safety, quality, and adherence to project specifications.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and coordinate all on-site construction activities, ensuring that projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
- Establish and implement project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards in line with company guidelines.
- Maintain active communication with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to facilitate smooth project operations.
- Direct, manage, and lead field personnel, ensuring manpower is effectively allocated to meet project goals.
- Oversee quality control for all systems and installations, ensuring work is performed to the highest professional standards.
- Schedule and manage labor resources to optimize productivity and maintain budget targets.
- Work closely with project managers to align field operations with overall project plans and timelines.
- Represent the company at project and strategy meetings, articulating construction progress and addressing challenges as they arise.
- Assume additional responsibilities as directed by company leadership to support organizational objectives.
- Administer and enforce company safety programs, maintaining a safe work environment for all personnel.
- At least 10 years of verifiable experience in the plumbing, piping, or sheet metal trades, with a minimum of 5 years in a supervisory capacity.
- Comprehensive knowledge of plumbing blueprints, specifications, and relevant codes.
- Proficiency in interpreting blueprints for other major construction trades.
- Expertise in the installation methods and means for a wide range of plumbing systems, from domestic water to medical gas.
- Thorough understanding of piping and ductwork systems and their respective installation methodologies.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with employees, clients, and other stakeholders in a professional manner.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise multiple foremen and manage teams across different phases of a construction project.
