Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day field activities to ensure project milestones and overall schedule completion are met, providing ongoing supervision of all site work.
- Create and monitor short-interval look-ahead schedules to track upcoming events and proactively address potential issues to maintain project momentum.
- Oversee the implementation and management of the project site safety plan, fostering a culture that prioritizes safety, health, and cleanliness at all times.
- Coordinate work to ensure construction proceeds in an organized, deliberate manner consistent with industry best practices and contract standards.
- Establish and maintain all dimensional controls for the project, utilizing third-party survey and layout personnel when appropriate.
- Verify all work is installed to high-quality standards, ensuring it is plumb, level, and meets all specified requirements.
- Obtain necessary inspections and ensure all quality aspects of the work are thoroughly documented.
- Ensure compliance with all contract terms, local regulations, and legal requirements governing the project and surrounding community.
- Administer client-specific programs such as landlord/site rules, safety requirements, and site-specific security measures.
- Conduct and participate in pre-construction, progress, and staff meetings to maintain project alignment and communication.
- Manage self-performed activities to ensure work remains within the established project budget.
- Oversee changes in project scope to ensure the most current documents are used, reducing rework and maintaining efficiency.
- Administer contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, and agreements, ensuring scope, terms, and conditions are consistently met.
- Manage the punch list and project closeout process to ensure timely and satisfactory project completion.
- Maintain accurate daily paperwork, including timecards, field reports, schedule updates, and correspondence.
- Provide timely and professional interaction with supporting work groups such as clients’ internal departments, vendors, and security teams.
- Assist in preparing project schedules for proposals, reviewing estimates, supporting proposal creation, and participating in client interviews.
- Engage in marketing activities and assist in securing new projects as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support company goals and project success.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Previous experience managing tilt-up and ground-up commercial construction projects is required.
- Tenant Improvement (TI) project experience is essential.
- Background in automobile dealership construction is highly beneficial.
- Associate’s degree in Construction Management or related field, or Journeyman status in a building trade from an accredited organization, with demonstrated progressive responsibility in construction supervision.
- Comprehensive understanding of construction means and methods related to commercial and institutional building renovation and site work.
- Proficiency in spreadsheets, email, scheduling software, Microsoft Office, and other industry-standard construction software applications.
- Current safety credentials, including OSHA 30, First Aid, and CPR certifications.
