The Construction Superintendent plays a pivotal role in the successful execution of construction projects, working in close collaboration with project management, subcontractors, and on-site personnel. Construction Superintendent - Summary- Oversees all construction site activities for ground-up commercial projects
- Ensures compliance with safety standards, quality assurance, and project schedules
- Acts as a site leader, providing direction to subcontractors and onsite personnel
- Collaborates closely with project management for seamless project execution
- Maintains a strong focus on regulatory and OSHA compliance
- Maintain a safe and organized construction site at all times
- Develop, update, and manage the project schedule using MS Project
- Coordinate daily field operations to ensure efficient progress
- Ensure adherence to all safety regulations, building codes, and project specifications
- Direct, schedule, and coordinate the work of subcontractors
- Interpret architectural, structural, MEP, and civil plans
- Foster positive working relationships with owners, consultants, and agency representatives
- Lead weekly coordination and safety meetings with subcontractors
- Review and manage submittals and shop drawings
- Address and resolve field issues through the RFI process
- Document daily activities and site conditions for project records
- Monitor and manage project progress to meet established schedules
- Coordinate inspections, obtain permits, and manage project sign-offs
- Oversee billing processes with project management, including subcontractor and supplier invoices
- Carry out additional responsibilities necessary for the successful completion of projects
- Supervise and train on-site staff, ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable laws
- Address complaints and resolve problems efficiently and professionally

- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Construction Superintendent in commercial construction
- 10+ years of overall construction field experience preferred
- College degree preferred, but not required
- Combination of relevant education and experience as determined by management
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
- OSHA 30-hour certification required
- First Aid and CPR certification
- Strong familiarity with regulatory construction standards
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, Project, Bluebeam, and Procore
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Superior plan reading and attention to detail
- Ability to coordinate multiple tasks and teams effectively
- Experience in scheduling, ordering, field supervision, and quality assurance
- Mathematical skills for calculating figures such as area, proportions, and volume
- Ability to solve practical problems and interpret various forms of instructions
- Action-oriented, resourceful, and effective collaborator
