Our client, a renowned general contractor experiencing significant growth, is seeking a skilled Construction Superintendent to oversee commercial ground up and tenant improvement (TI) projects. This full-time opportunity is based in Denver, CO, and requires a professional with a strong background in managing tilt up and ground up construction projects, as well as tenant improvements for commercial facilities. As a Construction Superintendent, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of field operations, ensuring adherence to schedules, quality standards, safety protocols, and contract requirements. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise all on-site construction activities to ensure project milestones and completion dates are achieved.
- Develop and maintain short-interval look-ahead project schedules to communicate and track upcoming work, proactively addressing potential issues.
- Implement and manage comprehensive site safety plans, fostering a culture that prioritizes health, safety, and cleanliness.
- Coordinate construction activities in accordance with contract documents and industry best practices, ensuring work is orderly and deliberate.
- Establish and maintain dimensional controls for the project, utilizing third-party survey and layout personnel as needed.
- Ensure all construction work meets high-quality standards for workmanship, including verifying installation accuracy and alignment.
- Obtain required inspections and document quality aspects of physical work throughout the project.
- Ensure all project work complies with contract terms, legal requirements, and community standards relevant to Denver, CO.
- Administer client-specific programs, including site rules and regulations, safety, and security protocols.
- Lead and participate in pre-construction, progress, and other project-related meetings.
- Oversee self-performed activities to maintain established project budgets.
- Manage changes in project scope, ensuring the most current documents are in use to prevent rework.
- Administer contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, and related agreements to ensure consistent fulfillment of terms and conditions.
- Oversee the punch list and project closeout process to support timely project completion.
- Maintain accurate daily documentation, including timecards, field reports, schedule updates, and correspondence.
- Collaborate effectively with internal departments, vendors, security, and other supporting groups.
- Support proposal development, estimate reviews, and participate in project interviews and marketing efforts as required.
- Perform additional duties as needed to advance organizational goals.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience managing tilt up and ground up commercial construction projects, including tenant improvement (TI) work.
- Associate degree in Construction Management (or similar), or Journeyman status in a building trade from an accredited organization, with progressive supervisory experience.
- Comprehensive knowledge of construction means and methods for commercial and institutional building projects, including site work.
- Proficiency with construction software tools such as spreadsheets, scheduling programs, Microsoft Office, and email communication.
- Current safety credentials, including OSHA 30, First Aid, and CPR certifications.
- Experience in automobile dealership construction is a plus.
