Construction Superintendent - Summary
The Construction Superintendent is responsible for providing oversight and coordination of day-to-day field activities on commercial construction sites. This role ensures that schedule milestones are achieved, safety protocols are maintained, and quality standards are consistently met. The Construction Superintendent will work closely with project managers, engineers, clients, and field teams to deliver projects that reflect the company's commitment to quality and client satisfaction. Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day field operations to ensure adherence to project milestone dates and overall schedule completion.
- Create and maintain short-interval look-ahead project schedules to communicate upcoming events and address potential issues proactively.
- Administer and enforce project site safety plans, instilling a culture that values safety, health, and cleanliness.
- Coordinate construction activities to align with contract standards and industry best practices.
- Establish and manage all dimensional controls, utilizing third-party survey and layout personnel as necessary.
- Verify that all work is performed to the highest standards of quality, ensuring proper installation and compliance.
- Obtain inspections and maintain thorough documentation of work quality and compliance.
- Ensure that project activities comply with all contractual and legal requirements.
- Administer client-specific programs such as site rules, safety, and security protocols.
- Conduct and participate in pre-construction, progress, and project meetings.
- Supervise self-performed work to maintain budgetary and quality standards.
- Manage project scope changes to keep project documentation current and minimize rework.
- Administer contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, and other agreements, ensuring all terms are met.
- Oversee the punch list and project closeout process to ensure timely completion.
- Maintain daily paperwork, including timecards, field reports, and schedule updates.
- Foster positive interactions with clients, vendors, and supporting departments.
- Assist with project proposals, estimate reviews, and participate in interviews as needed.
- Engage in marketing and business development activities to secure new projects.
- Perform additional duties as required to support company goals.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Demonstrated experience managing tilt-up and ground-up commercial construction projects is required.
- Associate degree in Construction Management or related field, or Journeyman status in a building trade from an accredited organization, plus progressive supervisory experience.
- Thorough understanding of construction means and methods for commercial and institutional buildings, including related site work.
- Proficiency with spreadsheets, email, scheduling software, Microsoft Office, and other construction industry tools.
- Current safety credentials, including OSHA 30, First Aid, and CPR certification.
