Construction Superintendent - Summary
The Construction Superintendent is responsible for the onsite construction management of assigned projects, focusing on safety, quality, and schedule adherence. This leadership role involves overseeing all aspects of field work, coordinating subcontractors, ensuring compliance with contract documents, and fostering positive relationships with owners, architects, consultants, and contractors. The Construction Superintendent works collaboratively with the project management team to identify potential challenges, implement solutions, and drive the project toward successful completion.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day construction activities at the job site, ensuring that work is performed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications and company standards.
- Coordinate and manage subcontractors and multi-prime contractors, ensuring seamless integration of all trades and maintaining project momentum.
- Build and nurture positive relationships with project stakeholders, including owners, architects, consultants, and contractors, to facilitate effective communication and project execution.
- Supervise self-performed work items, ensuring quality craftsmanship and adherence to project timelines.
- Process requests for clarifications and update as-built drawings to reflect current project status.
- Track project costs and supervise resources to maintain budgetary controls throughout the construction process.
- Develop initial project schedules and provide regular updates to ensure alignment with overall project goals.
- Ensure that progress photos are taken and daily reports are prepared accurately and promptly.
- Monitor and enforce compliance with contract documents, specifications, and quality standards.
- Review shop drawings and submittals to guarantee proper coordination of trades and materials.
- Assist the Project Manager in identifying, estimating, and managing changes in the scope of work.
- Lead the implementation of project and company safety plans, promoting a culture of safety awareness and compliance among all team members.
- Regularly communicate with the Project Manager to ensure coordination and alignment on project objectives and deliverables.

Qualifications & Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience managing commercial and public works construction projects.
- Strong attention to detail and a high degree of numerical accuracy.
- Proven ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic construction environment.
- Demonstrated capacity to resolve issues independently, using project and company standards as a guide and verifying facts before releasing information to clients or agencies.
- Excellent judgment, logical reasoning, and a quick learner mentality.
- Exceptional communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Procore and MS Project scheduling software is a plus.
- Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving history are required.
