Construction Superintendent - Summary
As a Construction Superintendent, you will supervise and coordinate daily construction activities to ensure projects are delivered on schedule and within budget. You will be responsible for maintaining a safe, organized job site and ensuring all work meets or exceeds quality expectations. The Construction Superintendent is instrumental in facilitating communication between project stakeholders, managing resources efficiently, and upholding company standards throughout the construction process.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Project Supervision
- Coordinate and supervise all field construction activities
- Direct field personnel for timely, on-budget, and quality project completion
- Oversee subcontractors and self-performed work
- Scheduling & Planning
- Create and maintain detailed construction schedules
- Identify and resolve scheduling or logistical issues promptly
- Order materials, schedule inspections, and prepare punch lists
- Develop and execute site logistic plans, keeping the job site and construction office organized and clean
- Technical Oversight
- Apply expertise across multiple trades and scopes of work
- Manage and perform tasks as needed to support project goals
- Safety & Compliance
- Promote a culture of job site safety and compliance with all safety policies
- Identify, address, and rectify potential job site hazards immediately
- Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols for all employees and contractors
- Client & Team Relations
- Maintain positive, professional relationships with clients, contractors, suppliers, and project stakeholders
- Foster effective communication and collaboration within project teams

Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field preferred, or equivalent relevant work experience
- Minimum of one year of relevant experience in scheduling, field supervision, quality control, and production across all construction project phases
- Demonstrable experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong organizational skills with a systematic approach to accuracy and efficiency
- Well-developed interpersonal skills for managing diverse personalities within field teams
