Construction Superintendent Position OverviewThe Construction Superintendent position plays a pivotal role in managing custom home building projects from inception through completion. As a Construction Superintendent, you will serve as the on-site representative, overseeing all aspects of residential construction to ensure projects are delivered efficiently, on time, and to the highest quality standards. Key Responsibilities- Oversee multiple custom home construction projects simultaneously, ensuring that each project adheres to design specifications, budget constraints, and scheduling requirements.
- Act as the primary point-of-contact for homeowners, maintaining open and professional communication throughout the duration of each project.
- Represent the company on-site, fostering strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and trade partners.
- Interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications, and translate these into actionable steps for the construction team.
- Develop, update, and maintain comprehensive project schedules, identifying and proactively addressing potential delays, especially regarding long-lead items common in complex custom home builds.
- Manage all aspects of subcontractor and trade partner coordination, including soliciting bids, awarding subcontracts, and supervising work to ensure compliance with project standards.
- Ensure job sites are organized, clean, and safe at all times, reflecting the company’s commitment to quality and professionalism.
- Monitor and maintain project budgets, assisting with bid packages, cost estimation, and change orders as needed.
- Work closely with the in-house construction staff to ensure seamless collaboration and project execution.
- Extensive experience in residential construction, with a strong preference for candidates with a background in custom home projects.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, enabling effective management of multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated customer service orientation, with strong interpersonal and communication skills to manage homeowner expectations and foster positive stakeholder relationships.
- Ability to interpret construction documents and specifications, and translate them into actionable project plans.
- Proficiency with basic computer applications, including Microsoft Excel and other construction management software.
- Demonstrated capability to multitask and manage project complexities while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
