Construction Superintendent Job OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to oversee and manage large-scale commercial and public works construction projects in Pleasanton, CA, and the surrounding areas. This full-time, on-site position is integral to the successful delivery of complex builds, requiring a deep understanding of steel and concrete construction, as well as advanced systems such as MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing), HVAC, and utilities. The Construction Superintendent will be responsible for supervising all phases of multi-million-dollar construction projects, including educational facilities and community-focused developments, ensuring quality, safety, and timely completion.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and coordinate all on-site construction activities for projects valued at $50M-$100M, ensuring compliance with project specifications and timelines.
- Oversee the integration and installation of MEP systems, HVAC units, and utility connections into complex building structures.
- Enforce safety and quality control protocols throughout every phase of the construction process.
- Review and interpret digital blueprints, drawings, and project specifications to guide construction activities.
- Develop and monitor detailed project schedules, establish critical paths, and ensure project milestones are achieved.
- Facilitate regular subcontractor coordination meetings to promote effective communication and collaboration among all project stakeholders.
- Maintain strong, trust-based relationships with owners, architects, design teams, and trade partners through consistent communication and reporting.
- Prepare and deliver comprehensive daily progress reports and weekly schedule updates to project management and stakeholders.
- A minimum of 12 years of construction experience, with at least 8-10 years in a senior supervisory or superintendent role within commercial or public works construction.
- Demonstrated expertise in managing ground-up construction projects valued at $50M or more, with a focus on steel and concrete foundation work, structural building, and systems integration.
- Proven leadership skills, with a track record of effectively managing and guiding large, multidisciplinary construction teams.
- Strong communication abilities, capable of engaging productively with owners, design professionals, and subcontractors.
- Technical proficiency with construction management software, including Procore, Microsoft Office Suite, and MS Project.
- Experience in managing and interpreting both civil and digital blueprints.
- OSHA 30 certification is required for this Construction Superintendent position.
- Must successfully pass a drug screening and background check as a condition of employment.
