The Construction Project Manager role is an essential leadership position responsible for overseeing the full cycle of commercial construction projects. This position plays a pivotal role in ensuring that all project deliverables, including schedule, budget, quality, safety, and client satisfaction, are met or exceeded. You will assemble and lead project teams, define roles and responsibilities, and facilitate project kickoff meetings with stakeholders, including owners and design teams. Your commitment to safety will be demonstrated by fostering a strong safety culture, maintaining a thorough knowledge of relevant safety programs such as ESHP and IIPP, and ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations.
Financial stewardship is a key component of the Construction Project Manager role. You will be accountable for establishing and managing original project budgets, tracking change orders, and providing accurate financial reporting. You will also support corporate finance objectives by ensuring project financial health and compliance with contractual agreements. Maintaining and updating project master schedules, utilizing platforms such as Primavera P6, and implementing the Last Planner System (LPS) are critical to successful project delivery.
Quality management and process optimization are integral to this position. The Construction Project Manager will develop and implement quality management protocols aligned with owner contracts, oversee the coordination and submittal process, and manage Building Information Modeling (BIM) plans. You will be called upon to resolve field quality issues and maintain alignment between owner and subcontractor agreements. Your ability to interpret and enforce regional labor agreements, including Project Labor Agreements (PLA), is essential for project compliance.
Establishing and maintaining positive relationships with owners, architects, subcontractors, and consultants is a strong focus for the Construction Project Manager. You will participate in business development activities, foster a collaborative team environment, mentor staff, and promote a culture of cooperation and continuous improvement.
