Construction Project Manager Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Construction Project Manager for a full-time position based in Lakeside, CA. The Construction Project Manager will play a critical role in leading, coordinating, and overseeing construction projects from initial planning through to completion. Key Responsibilities

• Manage client expectations throughout the construction project lifecycle, ensuring clear communication and satisfaction at all stages.
• Provide effective project leadership by supervising project teams and ensuring all project milestones are met.
• Maintain comprehensive project document control to ensure that all project documents are complete, up to date, and properly managed.
• Prepare and manage cost proposals and change orders in a timely and accurate manner.
• Develop project budgets, oversee project buy-out, and coordinate contracting of work with subcontractors and vendors.
• Handle all aspects of project accounting, including preparing owner billings and reviewing or approving subcontractor progress payments.
• Monitor project budgets and implement cost control measures to ensure financial objectives are met.
• Oversee the submittal process, respond to requests for information (RFIs), and manage all project documentation requirements.
• Develop and manage the Critical Path Method (CPM) project schedule to ensure timely project delivery.
• Coordinate with project architects, designers, owners, subcontractors, and field personnel to ensure seamless project execution.
• Manage project subcontractors, including coordination, procurement of materials and equipment, budget monitoring, and managing billings.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in managing commercial and/or public works construction projects, including multiple concurrent projects or single large-scale initiatives.
• Bachelor's degree in construction management, construction science, or a related field is preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of current construction methods, materials, and regulatory requirements.
• Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to coordinate diverse groups and activities under pressure to achieve project goals.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and construction scheduling software such as MS Project or similar platforms.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record required.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working on projects within large school bond programs (such as SDUSD, LAUSD, etc.).
• Familiarity with Procore project management software.
• Background in higher education or healthcare construction markets.
