Construction Project Manager Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Construction Project Manager to join our team on a full-time basis in Norwalk, CA. As a Construction Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing commercial and public works construction projects from inception through completion. This role is essential to ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with all safety and regulatory standards. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including architects, designers, subcontractors, and field personnel, to achieve project goals and maintain excellent client relationships. Key Responsibilities

• Manage client expectations throughout all phases of construction projects.
• Provide effective leadership and supervision to project teams, fostering a collaborative work environment.
• Maintain complete, current, and accurate project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and correspondence.
• Prepare and review project budgets, cost proposals, and change orders to ensure financial goals are met.
• Oversee project accounting functions, such as owner billings and subcontractor progress payments, to maintain fiscal responsibility.
• Control budgets and project costs, identifying and addressing variances during the project lifecycle.
• Manage project documentation requirements, including submittals and RFIs, to ensure seamless communication and workflow.
• Develop and manage Critical Path Method (CPM) schedules to track project milestones and ensure timely completion.
• Coordinate procurement of materials and equipment, monitor subcontractor performance, and manage project billings.
• Facilitate effective communication and coordination among architects, designers, owners, subcontractors, and field personnel.

Qualifications

• Experience managing multiple construction projects or a single large, complex project in commercial and/or public works sectors.
• Bachelor's degree in construction management, construction science, or a related field is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of current construction methods, materials, and industry regulations.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure, coordinating multiple tasks and stakeholders to achieve project objectives.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills are required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project scheduling software such as MS Project.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving history.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working on projects as part of a school bond program (e.g., SDUSD, LAUSD).
• Proficiency with Procore project management software.
• Background in higher education or healthcare market sectors.
