Construction Project Manager Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to join an established industrial and commercial construction company. This is a full-time opportunity for a dedicated professional who will oversee all phases of construction projects, from initial planning through final close-out. The Construction Project Manager will play a pivotal role in ensuring projects are executed efficiently, safely, and in accordance with established timelines and budgets. This position offers the chance to work on a range of projects and collaborate with a diverse team of industry professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage construction project scheduling, budgeting, and overall execution while coordinating with project owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, and field teams.
- Oversee the development of subcontracts and purchase orders, ensuring timely procurement and delivery of materials to job sites.
- Lead weekly job site visits to monitor safety, evaluate project progress, and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Facilitate clear communication between field teams and subcontractors to address project changes, clarifications, and resolve any issues that arise during the project lifecycle.
- Control project costs, submit progress billings to stakeholders, and track project cash flow to maintain financial health throughout the project.
- Organize and conduct pre-job conferences, regular project meetings, and coordinate job close-out procedures to ensure all project deliverables are met.
- Document and track change orders, report and address schedule delays, and submit comprehensive project completion reports.
- Provide guidance and coaching to project engineers, supporting their professional growth and development within the team.
Qualifications
- Exceptional organizational, multi-tasking, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and coordinate with a variety of stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook for effective project documentation and communication.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, meet established deadlines, and manage complex project outcomes in a dynamic environment.
Work Environment
- Regular exposure to varied weather conditions and potential hazards on active job sites, necessitating adherence to all safety policies and procedures.
- Physical requirements include standing, walking, climbing, and lifting materials or equipment weighing up to 25 pounds as part of routine job site responsibilities.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or a related field, plus a minimum of four years of relevant experience; or, ten years of direct construction experience in lieu of a degree.
