We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to join a leading custom home builder in San Diego, CA. This full-time position is an excellent opportunity for a skilled professional to oversee and coordinate complex residential construction projects. The Construction Project Manager will serve as the primary representative for the company on-site, ensuring high standards of quality and customer satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee multiple custom home construction projects simultaneously, ensuring all project goals and timelines are met.
- Serve as the main point-of-contact for homeowners, maintaining consistent communication and addressing client concerns or needs promptly.
- Represent the company professionally and uphold its reputation with clients, trade partners, and subcontractors.
- Interpret construction plans and specifications accurately to guide project execution.
- Create, update, and manage construction schedules, ensuring timely delivery of each home.
- Maintain an organized, clean, and safe job site at all times in compliance with company and regulatory standards.
- Coordinate and supervise subcontractors and trade partners, promoting collaboration and productivity.
- Solicit bids, review proposals, and award subcontracts in line with project requirements and budgets.
- Work closely with in-house field construction staff to ensure seamless project operations.
- Monitor project budgets, manage costs, and assist with estimating and preparing bid packages.
- Anticipate and plan for long-lead items due to the intricate nature of custom home construction, minimizing potential delays.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Substantial experience in residential construction, with a strong preference for custom home building expertise.
- Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain accurate project records.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills and a strong customer service orientation.
- Proven ability to multitask, handle complex challenges, and excel in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in written and verbal communication, as well as basic computer skills including Microsoft Excel and other relevant software.
- Demonstrated responsibility, reliability, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
