The Construction Project Manager role is a vital leadership position responsible for overseeing every aspect of heavy civil construction projects, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Working closely with the Field Operations Manager, this full-time position is at the center of project planning, execution, and close-out, directly contributing to the successful completion of complex construction initiatives. The Construction Project Manager is expected to leverage industry best practices, advanced construction technologies, and collaborative leadership skills to drive the success of assigned projects.

In this role, the Construction Project Manager will be responsible for developing and managing project budgets, creating detailed schedules, allocating resources efficiently, and conducting comprehensive site inspections. The Construction Project Manager will regularly review construction plans and specifications, identify potential project risks, and implement solutions to keep projects on track. This position requires strong communication skills to coordinate with owners, engineers, architects, contractors, and subcontractors and ensure that all stakeholders are aligned toward project goals.

Collaboration is a cornerstone of the Construction Project Manager’s duties. The role involves fostering a positive and cooperative team environment with General Superintendents, Superintendents, Foremen, and field personnel. The Construction Project Manager will also be responsible for managing procurement activities, including bid evaluations, contract negotiations, and vendor selection, as well as overseeing project cost control, forecasting, and change order management.

Site safety and regulatory compliance are critical, and the Construction Project Manager will conduct regular inspections to monitor progress and adherence to all relevant standards. Additionally, the Construction Project Manager will maintain effective communication with project teams and stakeholders, prepare weekly and monthly status reports, manage project documentation through platforms such as SharePoint, and participate in Work-in-Progress (WIP) reviews to ensure transparency and accountability.

Beyond primary project management responsibilities, the Construction Project Manager is also expected to contribute to secondary functions such as reviewing payroll timesheets for job cost accuracy, submitting expense reports, supporting business development activities, and assisting with recruiting and onboarding new team members. The position also encompasses maintaining compliance documentation, attending required company and industry training programs, and upholding professional standards in conduct and appearance.
